Your proprietary data belongs to you and/or your employer, and we protect it to the best of our ability.
However, by using this service you agree that we (meaning BuildingTransparency.org, C Change Labs Inc, and their employees, contractors, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, shareholders or partners) have no liability whatsoever for damage caused by disclosure of information entered into the site, whether due to a software error or any other reason. We sincerely intend, and make our best effort to implement, the policy below, but ultimately this service is offered as-is, without warranties or guarantees of any kind.
Data you enter in the Building Planner is presumed to be proprietary and confidential. Only you, your employer, others you share your information with, and the system administrators at C Change Labs will have access that data. We hope you will agree to share your quantity data for research purposes, in a suitably anonymized form, but you are not obliged to do so.
Environmental Product Declaration data are treated as public and may be viewed by anyone. However, only authorized parties (e.g. the program operator, or our staff) can edit sustainability data. Manufacturers can edit information about their products that describes product function, but not sustainability data.
C Change Labs system administrators may only use your data to provide services to you and those you authorize us to share the data with, or for another reason you give us permission to. All C Change Labs system administrators are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement.
The funders, founders, and partners of EC3 have no special access to your data, except for C-Change staff with a need to know to deliver or improve the service, and those you specifically authorize us to share the data with. If you are on an enterprise instance of EC3 (e.g. amazon.buildingtransparency.org) then the owner of the instance has FULL access to data on the server. In addition to the domain name, Enterprise instances are clearly marked with the owner's logo at top left and warning text at bottom left.
No software system is impenetrable or free of flaws, but we use a broad array of industry-standard measures to protect your data, including the use of Azure security services, a robust permission system, periodic reviews by security consultants, and end-to-end encryption.
All data is stored on Azure servers in the United States of America.
